The National Pension System (NPS) is a government-sponsored pension scheme in India. It allows subscribers to contribute regularly during their working life. On retirement at age 60, subscribers can withdraw a part of the corpus in a lump sum and use the remaining to buy an annuity to secure a regular income.

- Maturity Age: 60 Years.
- Annuity Requirement: At least 40% of the accumulated corpus must be used to purchase an annuity plan.
- Tax Benefits: Contributions up to ₹1.5 Lakh (80C) + ₹50,000 (80CCD(1B)) are tax-deductible. The 60% lump sum withdrawal is tax-free.
